Loved il Salumaio! Beautiful interiors and very friendly staff- the gentleman who served us explained the menu to us and gave us some great recommendations. We opted to build our own schiacciata, and were able to choose from a selection of meat, cheese, veg/salad, sauce. In a way, very simple but wonderfully delicious. Your sandwich can be either typical and familiar or wildly original (ex. in-house smoked porchetta, artichoke cream, stracchiatella and grilled eggplant)
To top it off, the gentleman who served us was extremely kind and patient, explained us every option in the most polite and kind way. He spoke perfect english, french and Italian of course!- Tipo di pasto

The schiacciate are freshly made, excellent and huge. Absolutely worth the money (10 €) Great choice for vegetarians too: You can choose two creams and two vegetables instead of one.

Absolutely amazing sandwiches! Travelling with brother who has nut allergy and the wonderful man who served us was very attentive to this. 5/5 for sandwiches a must when visiting Manarola!

Amazingly nice place where the food matches the beautiful design of the place. Excellent and friendly service. An extra plus for the tasty pesto. We took four sandwiches with us and ate them halfway on our trek to Riomaggiore. Recommended +++++

I did not get the name of the older gentleman but he was very nice and explained what the meat were. He was very welcoming. The food was great! The place deserves all the good reviews it gets!

This sandwich knocked my face off. I recommend telling the staff the meat you want and then let him build the rest with his recommendations. It was amazeballs! It was big enough that I had lunch off that sandwich for two days - after 4-5 hours of hiking! Highly recommend.

Best sandwich in Cinque Terre!!! Had the Mortadella hand carved (it was a 40kg beast). Can't put that in a slicer! Service was amazing and friendly..... We visited them 3 times in 4 days... Make sure to create your own masterpiece! You won't be disappointed! Grazie Mille Il Salumaio...

Very friendly and helpful owner who took time to explain all different varieties of meat and his recommendation. This was sandwich was the best thing I ate in 6 weeks of travelling Europe.

Adorable sandwich shop in Manarola up the hill from the waterfront. The man working in the shop was so kind and friendly. He explained how everything worked and would show any meat or cheese you had a question about. There was one woman making sandwiches in the back, but you could watch her cut the cheeses and meats fresh from inside the shop. I got pesto on my sandwich and it was one of the best pestos I’ve ever had. There was a few people ahead of me waiting for sandwiches, but I waited less than 10 minutes.
